Work Experience

Work experience plays a vital part of our programme which takes place three times a year. Placements have taken place within the following employments:

Some young people secure employment from their work experience along with apprenticeship opportunities.

Career Guidance and Support

On a weekly basis trainees avail of career guidance provided by Finbarr O Reilly, Career Guidance Officer where Employment and Further Education opportunities are explored. Many trainees progress to Monaghan Institute of Further Education - Last year five trainees enrolled in a range of FETAC Level Five courses.

Sport and Recreation

Each week trainees participate in sport and Recreation activities to include soccer, swimming or aerobics. We also engage in soccer matches against other Youthreach centres.

Outdoor Pursuits

Outdoor Education is also part of the programme encouraging the development of qualities such as personal responsibility, teamwork, leadership, co-operation and self-reliance.

Achievement of Awards

Each year Castleblayney Youthreach celebrates FETAC Awards Ceremony where trainees are presented with a range of FETAC Certificates and other achievements.
