School Transport Scheme

The School Transport Scheme was established in 1967 and is administered by Bus Eireann as agent for the Department of Education & Science.

Mr Martin G. O'Brien (CEO, Co Monaghan VEC) is the Transport Liaison Officer (appointed by the Department) for Co Monaghan and is responsible for the co-ordination of school transport for primary and post primary schools.

Meetings are arranged annually with Bus Eireann representatives and school Principals to discuss school calendar and any school transport requirements/problems they may have. In addition, parents can make representations direct to the Transport Liaison Officer. To be eligible under the post primary school transport scheme a pupil must:

Form N is the Application Form for NEW STUDENTS

Form T is the Change of Address  or Change of School Form

Form E is the Application Form for pupils deleted from the system but now re-applying
