The Committee has an Academy of Performing Arts (Music & Drama) each led by a professional in that field.

This provisions started as the Committee’s Arts Education Programme, with a dedicated Arts Education Organiser for the county; transmogrified into a County School of Music – classes plus Co. Choir – then blossomed into a grander design and provision  as an Academy of Performing Arts. This development reflects the emerging economy, society and nation – the VEC is simply keeping pace with change and emerging needs in the arts area.

The intention is that every young person will have opportunities in all the arts to develop their natural, innate talents to full potential – irrespective of place of residence or family means.
