Mission Statement

- by delivering or ensuring the delivery of quality education, training and ancillary services
- to all age-groups and communities in our county.”
Essentially, the Vocational Education Committee provides, or ensures the provision of, education, training and related services e.g. youth, sport, cultural and recreational, to the people of Co. Monaghan - through schools, centres and outreach programmes.
Co. Monaghan VEC is committed to excellence in all aspects of its service. The nature and ethos of the organisation is public and democratic, non-political,non-sectarian and accommodating of difference and diversity. Concern for the individual welfare and development of learners and staff is a core value.

The VEC is committed to a policy of alleviation of disadvantage in Co. Monaghan - economic, social, cultural, artistic and physical - and will provide and support education, training and public policy measures aimed at eliminating or reducing such disadvantage.
As one of the principal statutory organisations and being the largest single employer of graduate staff in the county, the VEC will, on sensible agreed terms, and subject only to the demands, obligations and limitations of its own remit, resources and priorities, join with, assist and support other relevant service providers, development agencies or community groups towards local social, cultural and economic progress.
Co. Monaghan VEC will regularly evaluate performance, reviewing its objectives, structures, programmes and priorities in order to match best practice and to meet changing patterns of national policy and local need or demand.
